Man Alleged to Bag Up Marijuana on the 30 Bus en Route to Selling it at Forest Hills

MBTA Police arrested a Mattapan man who allegedly bagged up marijuana on the 30 Bus and then sold it to teens at the Forest Hills station.

MBTA Police say a Mattapan man, who would put his marijuana into smaller bags in plain view of other passengers as he rode the 30 Bus, sold the drug to teens at .

Officers working in plain clothes investigated several reports of a man in a wheelchair dividing pot into smaller plastic bags while riding on the bus. Anonymous tipsters included an MBTA bus driver, according to a police report.

The officers boarded the 30 at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Sunoco station on Cummins Highway. They say they did indeed see a man in a wheelchair, who exited at Forest Hills station and started talking to a group of high-school age boys.

Police say the man in the wheelchair made his drug sales behind the Bank of America ATM.

Police arrested Joseph Enrico, 23, of Mattapan, and charged him with distribution of class D drugs. Two juveniles were also arrested on drug charges.

Universal Hub pointed out that Enrico was honored by the city when he was a high school junior for his efforts to recover from the attack that left him needing to use a wheelchair.
