A 71-year-old Jamaica Plain woman was killed in an early-morning car accident on Route 95 Wednesday.

The accident, which remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police, involved seven vehicles and began at 2:09 a.m. when a 2004 Audi A4 lost control, struck the guardrail and spun around, so that it was facing oncoming traffic, according to a police statement Wednesday afternoon.

Elefthria Pantekidis was among four occupants of a 2008 Cadillac DTS involved in the accident. She was pronounced dead at Norwood Hospital Wednesday morning.

Three other occupants of the Cadillac were also brought to Norwood Hospital and Boston Medical Center. All were from Jamaica Plain. The state police listed them as Haralambos Kosmidis, 75 and the driver, and passengers Elpida Kosmidis, 68, and Georgios Pantekidis, 78.

The driver of the Audi that initiated the accident was Milton J. McCarthy, 23 of Dorchester, police said. He suffered serious injuries when his car was then struck by an oncoming vehicle and was transported to Boston Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.

The accident involved three consecutive collisions and happened at the Neponset Avenue exit on Route 95 Northbound.

See this Patch article for more information on the investigation and the names of other drivers and occupants involved.
