Tips on How Not to Get Mugged — JP Police Blotter: Friday, Aug. 5

The following arrest information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Joseph Porcelli at Neighbors for Neighbors reports that a man walking home at 2:15 a.m. on Friday avoided getting "jumped" by two young men on bikes. The men, who appeared to be teens, appeared to be waiting for the man at the corner of Centre and Boylston. He overhead them say, "There is too much light here."

The man called police, who responded quickly. Porcelli includes tips for staying safe on your walk home, like not using your iPhone/Droid, which says "Mug me, I have a nice phone."
