Jamaica Plain Man Pleads Not Guilty to Meth Possession and Drug Trafficking

According to the Attorney General's office, Christopher Cadman, 33, was indicted. Prosecutors claim he sold drugs out of his house.

Methampthetamine, a drug long associated mostly with rural areas of the country, is also being sold in Jamaica Plain, according to the Attorney General's office.

Today a Jamaica Plain man, Christopher Cadman, 33, pleaded "not guilty" to charges of meth possession and trafficking other drugs.

A former Plainfield, Connecticut police officer and a Jamaica Plain man have both been indicted in separate cases for allegedly possessing methamphetamine, Attorney General Martha Coakley’s Office announced today.

“Meth is a highly dangerous drug that can now be found right here in our own backyard," said Attorney General Martha Coakley in a press release. "We need tougher laws in the state that will prevent drug traffickers from bringing this substance into our neighborhoods.”

Cadman was indicted June 30 by a Suffolk County Special Grand Jury, the press release said. Cadman is being held on $100,000 bail.

The Attorney General's office said its State Police Detective Unit, with help from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration got a tip Cadman was selling drugs out of his JP home.
