Jamaica Plain Daycare Director Allegedly Tried to Run Over Parishioners

Linda Chery-Valentin allegedly threatened a Catholic priest on May 6.

The director of has been arrested and charged with trying to run down parishioners of her host church.

Linda Chery-Valentin allegedly threatened the priest of a Catholic church, "swore, and tried to (hit) several parishioners with her car" at about 1 p.m. Sunday, May 6, according to Fox 25 Boston.

Chery-Valentin directs the Arc-En-Ciel Daycare and Montessori School from the basement of Our Lady of the Cedars at 61 Rockwood St.

She is also the founding director of a new French bilingual Montessori school opening in Sharon this September.

"Father George, the church's priest, told FOX 25 that the owner of the daycare decided to hold an open house, but did not mention the event to church staff.  He said Chery-Valentin was mad that there were not enough parking spaces," the TV station reports.

Boston Police have charged Chery-Valentin with two counts of assault and battery, Fox 25 reports. Her next court date is Tuesday.

WBZ reports that parents are having a hard time believing the charges. It also has video of her lawyer responding to the allegations.
