Hunting Knife Shown in Armed Robbery on Merriam Street

The following arrest information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The lead item in the police blotter from last Thursday, Dec. 29, is the robbery at knifepoint of a woman outside the Brewery on Merriam Street.

The victim emailed Boston blog Universal Hub with details of the attack:

A man rushed me from behind, put his arm around my neck, showed a tactical/hunting knife with his other hand and demanded my stuff, mostly my phone. I screamed the whole time and took off after him when he got my purse.

The attack occurred at 4:44 pm on Dec. 29. The assailant ran up Merriam, took a left on Brookside and a right on Germania to make his escape, police said in a comment made on Universal Hub.

Police say they continue to investigate. Anyone with information is encouraged to call detectives at 617-343-5628.

The robbery at knifepoint is one of at least two in the general area recently. There was another at 267 Lamartine on Dec. 27. While not in the same geographic area, there was a street robbery with a knife at 89 Heath on Dec. 14.
