Homeless Man Attempts 2 Break-Ins in 25 Mins

The following police arrest information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A homeless man was arrested early Friday morning after attempting to break into two houses near Boylston and Amory streets within one hour.

Paulino Manuel Deblito broke into residences at 4 Porter St. and 20 Dalrymple St. at 12:16 a.m. and 12:40 a.m., respectively, March 22, according to a police report.

At the first residence, a victim confronted Deblito after hearing him in an alley next to the residence, the report states. Deblito tried to gain entry into the home through the garage as evidenced by two damaged window screens.

After being confronted, Deblito left taking a right on Amory Street.

At 12:40 a.m., police were alerted to a breaking and entering at 20 Dalrymple St. At the scene, police noticed heavy damage around a lock at a basement door, the report states.

The victim here went to the basement where she found Deblito trying to separate two bicycles. She yelled at Deblito who took off, the report states.

Police located Deblito at 1 a.m. at the intersection of School and Amory streets. He was carrying a 100-foot orange extension cord and a power sander, which were both presumed stolen, according to the report.

Witnesses at both residences identified Deblito in person, according to the report. He was arrested and charged with two counts of unarmed breaking and entering in the nighttime and receiving stolen property.
