Egleston Resident’s Car Reported Stolen, Recovered in Roxbury

Police say the Honda Civic Coupe was found badly damaged.

Police located a car the day after it was reported stolen from an Egleston Square parking spot.

A resident told police at the District E-13 station (Jamaica Plain) July 7 that his brother’s 2000 Honda Civic Coupe had been stolen from a space in front of his residence on Egleston Street, according to a report.

On July 8, detectives used the LoJack tracking system to find the car, which was parked near 40 Hazelwood St. around the corner from the Boston Latin Academy.

Damage to the car included missing rear tail lights, missing stereo system, a broken steering column, a popped ignition and two flat tires, according to a report.

Police did not report an arrest in the incident.
