E-13 JP Police District Gets New Community Service Officer

Sgt. Beth Polaski has taken over for Sgt. Eric Krause, who was granted a transfer to the Special Operations Division- Commercial Vehicle Unit.

The community service office at the E-13 Jamaica Plain District Police station has lost a long-serving officer, but gained another.

Sgt. Eric Krause has been granted a transfer to the Special Operations Division- Commercial Vehicle Unit, according to an email from E-13 Captain Paul Russell Tuesday.

“Sgt. Krause has served as the Community Service Office supervisor for several years where he has done an outstanding job and is well liked and respected by the community and his colleagues at E13,” Russell said in the email. “I’d like to thank him on behalf of District E13 for his dedication to this neighborhood and his commitment to community policing. We’ll miss him and wish him the best in his new assignment.”

The community service office is often the public face of the local police district; many representatives attend public meetings and help with public messaging.
