It's clear the damage to the recently-moved tattoo parlor could have been much worse.

"That Bronco died to save our shop," said David, who answered the phone at Fat Ram's. He preferred not to give his last name. The damage was to the door just to the left of Fat Ram's as you look out the shop to the street.

Firefighters had to use the "Jaws of Life" to extract the driver, police and fire officials said. He was taken to Brigham & Women's Hospital with lacerations to his head and a possible neck injury.

Police went to the hospital to issue the man citations for speeding, operating at a speed greater than reasonable and proper as well as reckless operation of a motor vehicle. Police say they aren't done investigating.

Boston Fire reports the incident happened at 12:57 a.m. Monday.
