Coyotes in JP? Lamartine Resident Says ‘Yes’

Could there be coyotes roaming the streets of Jamaica Plain?

Universal Hub first reported that a resident on Lamartine Street fired a gun to try to scare off a coyote early Wednesday morning:

BPD investigating shots fired on Lamartine St in JP - by a homeowner who says he was firing at a coyote in his backyard.

Police Wednesday have confirmed that this was in fact was the case:

“[T]he homeowner actually called us to tell us he fired a BB Gun to scare off a coyote,” says a police spokesperson via email.
