Centre and Lamartine Streets Targeted for Nighttime Snow Removal

There is no parking ban, but certain areas have limited parking at night, so look for the signs.

With snow piling up on both sides of the street, parking is becoming increasingly challenging. The narrowing of the streets has . Certain sections of Jamaica Plain's roads are currently marked for targeted snow removal on night.

  • Centre Street - Seaverns Avenue to Green Street (both sides)
  • Centre Street - St. John Street to Spring Park Avenue
  • Lamartine St - New Minton Street to Mozart Street

These areas have been marked with "No Parking" signs, for the Boston to access and remove the snow. Parking in one of these areas may result in your car being towed or moved by the Boston Transportation Department. If you haven't moved your car, you may be in for an unexpected reminder, like JP resident Lesley Mahoney.

"Around 12:30 this morning, I hear police on a bullhorn warning people that snow removal is about to commence and cars parked on Centre Street will be tagged and towed." Mahoney said.

On investigation, Mahoney did find a small warning sign. She found another parking spot.

This is not a Snow Emergency, so the emergency accommodations — such as Municipal parking lots — are not open for parking.
