Boston Police Commissioner Launches Internal Investigation Into Court Appearances by District E-5 Police
One sergeant detective placed on paid administrative leave, while three officers have been placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
Several police are under an internal Boston Police investigation for "alleged misconduct regarding court attendance" by several officers. District E-5 roughly corresponds to West Roxbury.
One sergeant detective has been placed on paid administrative leave, and three patrol officers have been placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation, said Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis through a statement.
Davis was made aware of the possible misconduct by Boston Police supervisors. The alleged misconduct involves court appearances at the in Jamaica Plain when all of the four E-5 personnel did not need to be present and submitted paperwork that they were in attendance.

An internal investigation to determine the facts and circumstances of the allegations is still ongoing. The commissioner has also ordered that the Boston Police audit the department's court reporting system.
Police officials have reached out to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley's office for assistance in reviewing the allegations.
