Boston Firefighters Launch Fundraiser for 306 South St.

Homeowners and tenants "lost everything" in the weekend blaze.

Local firefighters and military officials have are hoping to help the victims in the Saturday house fire on South Street.

Boston Fire Fighters Military Veterans Legion and Boston Firefighters Local 718 have set up a fundraise.com page to help a Marine Lance Corporal who who lived at 306 South St., and the other tenants who lost nearly everything in the four-alarm fire.

“Yesterday an unfortunate 4 Alarm Fire destroyed a home in Jamaica Plain,” a post on the site says. “The homeowners and tenants pretty much lost everything.”

Those interested can select options to donate $25, $50, $100 or an amount of their choosing on the site.

According to the Boston Fire Department Saturday afternoon, there was no one found inside the house.

Firefighters had contained the fire along the exterior of the house, but it spread into the attic of the building, where it eventually broke through the roof.
