Boston Boy, JP Student Allegedly Shot Accidentally by Brother Friday

The Mattapan youth was a student at the Hennigan School in Jamaica Plain, according to reports.

A 9-year-old boy from the Boston neighborhood of Mattapan who was also a student in Jamaica Plain was accidentally shot and killed by his older brother Friday, according to WCVB.

The boy, who was allegedly shot Friday morning at 617 Morton St. in Mattapan, was also a fourth-grade student at the Hennigan School in Jamaica Plain, according to WCVB.

The boy was allegedly shot in the chest and taken to Boston Medical Center, and his 14-year-old brother fled the scene but was later apprehended and will be arraigned next week on charges of involuntary manslaughter and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to WHDH.
