Bomb Squad Investigates Backpack Left Behind Former Hi-Lo Foods
The backpack turned out not to be dangerous.
An unattended backpack was left at the mural behind the former , prompting someone to call the bomb squad.
After the call came in at 5:30 p.m., officers from the bomb squad investigated. One officer donned protective gear to approach the backpack. However, there was nothing dangerous in the backpack, police said.
The backpack had been left against the back wall of the former Hi-Lo Foods, on a wall that has a mural celebrating the culture of the Taino peoples of the Caribbean.
