Afternoon Shooting on Heath Street Injures Man

A man was shot in the leg Tuesday afternoon at 154 Heath St. He becomes the fifth person wounded in gunfire in JP in the past 12 days.

A Thursday afternoon shooting on Heath Street left a man with a leg wound, according to Boston Police.

The call for a shooting at 154 Heath St. came in at 2:14 p.m., according to Officer Nicole Grant. She said a male victim was taken to Brigham & Women's Hospital.

The victim becomes the fifth person to be injured by gunfire in JP in the past 12 days. Early Monday morning, a 21-year-old Dorchester man was injured at a Day Street party attended by a . And on June 14, a hail of gunfire .

Police say none of the three shooting incidents is related.

"Additional directed patrols will be in the affected areas to evaluate the recent shootings," Grant said in an email. "We are asking the residents to call the Boston Police Department’s District E-13 detectives at 617-343-5628 who are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding these shootings."
