4-Alarm Fire on South Street

The fire at 306 South St. spread into the attic and through the roof.

Firefighters are battling a four-alarm blaze on South Street. 

According to the Boston Fire Department, there was no one found inside the 300-block house. Firefighters had contained the fire along the exterior of the house, but it spread into the attic of the building, where it eventually broke through the roof. 

Police have closed South Street from Asticou Road to Washington Street. Heavy smoke could be seen throughout the Forest Hills area.
