31-Year-Old Man Shot in Arm on Walnut Street in Parkside

The victim was driven to Brigham & Women's Hospital. It isn't clear where the shot came from.

Someone shot a 31-year-old man in the left arm on Monday afternoon on Walnut Avenue, right in front of .

Police responded to a call of a shot being fired at 2:03 p.m. As police canvassed the area around Walnut Street and Park Lane, word came from Brigham & Women's Hospital that a woman had driven an injured man there for treatment. The wound appeared not to be life-threatening, said David Estrada, a spokesperson for the Boston Police.

A witness told police she heard a gunshot, looked out a window and saw a person running down Park Lane. She also described a car leaving the scene, driving toward Columbus Avenue. A car matching her description took the injured man to the hospital.

Estrada said the investigation is continuing. It's not clear where the shot came from, he said.
