UPDATED: 16 Taken to Hospital After Porch Collapse at House in Jamaica Plain

Boston EMS has taken 16 people to hospital with mostly minor injuries following porch collapses on Nira Ave.

Emergency crews have taken 16 people to hospital with injuries after they fell two stories when a porch collapsed at the home at 3 Nira Avenue in Jamaica Plain Sunday at about 9:20 p.m.

The injured were treated on the scene before being sent to hospital, . A couple of the injuries were serious, Bosse said, and some people may have internal injuries.

None of the injuries are life threatening and most are minor injuries, according to a reports from the Boston Fire Department.

The cause of the collapse has not been announced yet. The porch on the third story of a of the three-story house near the corner of Day Street collapsed, according to the Boston Fire Department Twitter feed.

"It was a 3 story porch. The 2nd floor collapsed into the first floor porch which then collapsed to the ground. The people were on 2nd floor," a Boston Fire tweet reads.
