1 Arborway Crash Victim in Coma, Another Sustained Brain Injury

A driver faces charges in the Arborway crash of two weeks ago.

The 33-year-old driver of a vehicle on the receiving end of the impact in the Sept. 6 Arborway crash remains in a coma and a 14-year-old passenger has sustained a traumatic brain injury, according to a statement released Wednesday.

Investigators have filed charges against one of the drivers, Nikolas Papadopoulos, 18, of West Roxbury, who remains hospitalized as well. The other victims have not been identified.

In all, there were six victims of the crash, which created gridlock through Jamaica Plain and the surrounding areas during a hectic Friday afternoon commuter.

Two have been released from the hospital. All four are expected to survive, but remain in critical care, according to a statement from Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley and the Massachusetts State Police Wednesday.
