Since I moved to Forest Hills six years ago, I've dreamed of creating a news and community site for JP. You're looking at it!

The last two months my team and I have been putting together a directory of every business and organization in town, writing news stories and compiling events and announcements.

I've been a news reporter and editor for 14 years. One of the reasons I joined Patch is that the platform was built from the ground up to take advantage of the Web.

I hope that you'll find it easy and intuitive to use this site to better connect with your neighbors and your neighborhood. All you need is an email address and you can put your church's bake sale on the calendar. It's easy to post volunteer opportunities if you work with one of JP's hundreds of non-profits. Patch also makes it easy to make comments and add pictures and videos to articles. Just look for the links below any photograph or video.

And of course you can always email me with any information you want to put on the site.
