Equality Is An American Value But Is Sin?

Letter to the Editor addresses gay military members marching in recent San Francisco Gay Pride Parade.

Dear Editor,

For the first time in the United States history our Department of Defense on July 21, 2012 sanctioned a Gay Pride Parade in San Francisco by breaking their own rule and allowing the gay Military men and women to parade in full uniform. Many claim this is wonderful, we are showing we value equality!

For the first time in the U.S. History our President has gone on record as approving of homosexual marriage.

The percentage of American citizens is going up yearly as approving of homosexuality.

All one has to do is watch the TV sitcoms, commercials, soap operas, etc... and the media is not only condoning homosexuality but also condones and promotes other sinful behaviors as well!

This is just so disturbing to me! Our Department of Defense has broken their own directive because of pressure from a group that represents less than 4% of our citizenry?

So what's next? Will our military be allowed to march in a "Adulterer Pride Parade? or a Murderer Pride Parade? Or a Liar Pride Parade? Or a Pedophilia Pride Parade...because we need to show equality is an American Value?

I am a sinner and I sin every day...but I don't have "PRIDE" in my sin!

Allowing our military to wear full uniform in a “GAY PRIDE” parade is just wrong! According to the DOD's directives about uniforms, it clearly states in Directive 1334.1 subsection 3.1.3 that the wearing of the uniform is prohibited during a “civil rights” demonstration because it implies “Service sanction of the cause for which the demonstration or activities conducted.”

Is that not what the gay community is claiming... it is their civil right to be homosexuals? So why would our Defense Dept go against their rules and sanction a cause?

I just can't wrap my brain around this! Tolerating sin is sin itself. Our DOD has just sanctioned sin.

And I for one can no longer sit in silence and be tolerant. As a Christian I must rebuke sin. It is wrong to be proud of being a homosexual just as it is wrong to be proud of being an adulterer, or a liar, or a thief, or a child molestor, or a murderer. How can we tolerate one having “PRIDE” in being a sinner?

The writer of this letter is operating from such a deep, predetermined bias that anything expressed becomes a rant of personal bigotry . Yet another person who hides their hate for anyone who is not of her thinking , behind the imagined "free pass" of religion. You can see her opinion has been formed by a very low brow religious manipulation . Therefor making her voice moot ! By the way ... I am very proud to say that I have NEVER sinned a day in my life .
