Pet Rock Fest Donating to Puppy Doe Reward Fund

Pet Rock Fest donates toward the Puppy Doe reward fund.

Joining throngs of concerned citizens and animal advocates throughout New England, and around the country, Pet Rock Fest is donating $1,000 toward the growing reward fund for Puppy Doe.

Kyia, dubbed “Puppy Doe” by those who found her, is at the center of an investigation, as this pit bull was located in a park in Quincy, MA, earlier this month. She had been brutally tortured and left for dead, and because of extensive injuries, Kyia had to be euthanized.

Pet Rock will give $1,000 to the people/person responsible for leading to the apprehension and conviction of the perpetrators of this crime.

“This crime is overwhelmingly hideous,” said Charlene Arsenault, Pet Rock Fest founding partner. “I don’t think anyone with a heart can even bear to hear the details without feeling a sense of anger and sadness. Thankfully, animal advocates and law enforcement are not resting until they find who could have committed this heartless act. Justice simply must be served, for Kiya and for the many animals who continue to suffer cruelty at the hands of humans. It just cannot be tolerated.”

Police are following many leads in an effort to find the perpetrators of this vicious act of animal cruelty.

“We at Pet Rock Fest are horrified by the reports of extreme and senseless cruelty put upon this loyal and loving companion animal by these cowards and bullies,” said Jeannie Hebert, Pet Rock Fest founding partner. “The mission of Pet Rock is kindness and to educate the public that animals are living breathing creatures that only want to please and give back love. Nothing would make us happier than to bring these monsters to justice. If they would do this to a dog, they would surely graduate to a woman or child.”

Celebrating 15 years, Pet Rock Fest is the largest event of its kind in the Northeast, an annual festival that promotes kindness to animals and responsible pet ownership. Pet Rock Fest, held in September each year, is a family festival that features guest speakers, vegetarian food, live music, games, events, a raffle, vendors, and hundreds of area animal welfare organizations. Pet Rock is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. Donations are tax deductable.
