Ward Pond Lampposts

Recently, on a walk around Ward Pond and the surrounding area, I noticed a handful of old historic lamppost bases. Even though they are dilapidated, they are still quite lovely and covered in intricate carvings  from the period. One still even had the original carved wooden pole still in it. I am certain that the parks department does not want to restore and  keep them in the parks (so as not to promote night time activity) but I got to thinking, why not remove them from their current locations, restore them and then place them around other parks or streets in JP? They would be such a fantastic feature to add some historry to our streetscape.  Centre street doesn't have the traditional Boston acorn lamps yet so they could possibly cover a block or two there.  Thoughts?
