3. Slow Cloth: You've heard of slow food. Now learn about "slow cloth" from textile artist Leonore Alaniz. She compares pleasure vs efficiency, nature vs toxins, heirloom vs throwaway. Free. 7 p.m. Thursday at The Eliot School.

4. English High Wins!: The English High football team has been in rebuilding mode for many years. Coach Boswell's team has something to celebrate with their win Friday over New Mission on Friday. It was the first non-foreit win since 2010. Congratulations, Blue & Blue!
5. JP Celebrity News: JP native Julia Jones was at a movie premier in New York and attended Fashion Week. The Globe has a photo of the "Twilight" actor.
