J.P. Licks Continues Fundraising Efforts for Curley K-8 School

The school is looking to transform a decaying lot into a safe and usable playing field.

In an effort to help the Curley K-8 School in Jamaica Plain build a new playing field, J.P. Licks is raising money with proceeds from its JP location. 

So far, customers have helped J.P. Licks raise $262, and for every $2 donated at the Jamaica Plain location through Saturday, March 1, customers will receive a $2 gift card that can be used for a future purchase. 

The school is looking to transform a 14,000 square-foot lot of decaying and hazardous asphalt into a safe and accessible turf playing field, track and shaded seating area for student sports and play, according to a website designed for the project

Fundraising efforts have pulled in more than $240,000 since the spring of 2013 as officials strive to reach an additional $20,000 in donations by this Saturday, March 1, when fundraising will end.
