Help a Local Cancer Patient, Volunteer for the American Cancer Society

Community members can make a difference in the lives of local cancer patients by volunteering for the American Cancer Society.  To learn more, please visit the Society’s volunteer information session Wednesday, June 27, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., at the AstraZenca Hope Lodge Center, 125 South Huntington Avenue in Jamaica Plain. 

            An American Cancer Society representative will discuss volunteer opportunities available through the Society’s patient support programs and services, such as providing patients with transportation to and from their chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments through the Road to Recovery program, and informing local patients of the of the resources available to them through the Society as a  Cancer Resource Volunteer.  No registration required.  For more information please call Brenda Cobleigh at 617-396-5505.  For cancer information any time day or night, call 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
