Whether you're already in a hair band or just want to look like it, Miss Laura's Beauty Culture in Jamaica Plain, MA will offer discounted haircuts to benefit Girls Rock Campaign Boston on June 5th from 11 a.m. to - 5 p.m. Head over to Boston's oldest salon as they turn up the volume and blow out all the stops to help support GRCB, a local non-profit organization that fosters the love of music, performance and builds self-esteem in young girls. Music training, songwriting, leadership and life skills are just a few of the ways GRCB empower girls ages 8-16, without being burdened by body image issues or devaluing mainstream media influence, to find their own voice. Recently featured in Nylon Magazine and well-known as one of Boston's hippest vintage-style salons, Miss Laura's is at the forelock of helping to sustain and grow this worthwhile cause by volunteering time, product and stylists for a one-of-a-kind-cut-a-thon. Says owner and senior cutter Laura Dembski " My daughters are very excited to be going to GRCB this summer and we are happy to support these fine ladies."
