Community Servings to Get $70K in New Grants

Three organizations contributed to grants for the JP-based food and nutrition non-profit.

The Jamaica Plain-based organization Community Servings, which provides meals to the critically ill around Massachusetts, has been awarded $70,000 in new grant funds by way of three organizations. 

Fred Harris Daniels Foundation, MAZON and Susan G. Komen for the Cure each made donations, which will be put to use for specific needs, according to a press statement.

Fred Harris Daniels donated $10,000 to benefit the individuals affected by life-threatening illnesses in Worcester.

MAZON awarded Community Servings with $20,000 to assist with any advocacy related activities.

Susan B. Komen donated $40,000, which will go toward aiding Community Servings’ breast cancer nutrition program. Throughout the course of this grant, Community Servings’ nutrition classes will reach 300 individuals and provide meals to 100 individuals affected by breast cancer, according to the statement.
