Ruth Feldstein Book Reading & Discussion

Tres Gatos is thrilled to welcome Ruth Feldstein on Sunday, April 13 at 3pm for a reading & discussion of her new book, “How It Feels to Be Free: Black Women Entertainers and the Civil Rights Movement.” This important book discusses the role that black entertainers, especially black women, played in advancing the goals of the civil rights movement. Featured musicians include Nina Simone, Lena Horne, Miriam Makeba, Abbey Lincoln and Cicley Tyson. As part of Ms. Feldstein’s presentation, we’ll play songs by some of these artists.
