Visit the Tropics without leaving Boston during February school vacation week! Warm up with fun winter activities at Franklin Park Zoo

Looking to shake off the winter cold? How about a trip to the Tropics during February school vacation week? Franklin Park Zoo’s Tropical Forest, featuring lush greenery and waterfalls, is kept at a balmy 72 degrees year-round and is home to western lowland gorillas, ring-tailed lemurs, ocelots, Baird’s tapirs, a giant anteater and much more! This is a great way to visit the Tropics without leaving Boston!


 


Throughout February school vacation week, learn more about the incredible animals that call the Tropical Forest home. The festivities will include zookeeper encounters, daily storytimes, crafts and more!

On February 18, don’t miss Little Joe’s birthday party. Little Joe, a western lowland gorilla, turns 20 in February and on February 18, the indoor gorilla exhibit will be festively decorated and the gorillas will receive treats made especially for them. Guests will have the opportunity to sign a giant birthday card for Little Joe. The gorillas will go on exhibit at 10:30 a.m.
