A Winter Farmers’ Market for JP: Meet your farmers!

Jamaica Plain’s first winter farmers' market will open its doors to the public on Saturday, November 10 from 11am-2pm. The Egleston Farmers Market (a community project supported by theJP New Economy Transition and Egleston Square Main Street) will bring locally grown and produced food to JP and Roxbury. By accepting SNAP and participating in the Bounty Bucks program the market will make local food accessible to its neighbors and patrons while financially supporting our local farmers and food makers.

This JP Forum will be a panel discussion with some of the local farmers who will contribute to the market: Angela Roell and Brian Kline of Yard Birds, Jim Buckle of Buckle Farm and Jess Liborio of The Food Project. These innovative farmers are closing the gap between the food they grow and the people who eat it.

Directly following the panel discussion, a delicious Thanksgiving Trimmings Box, worth $50 and assembled by the panelists, will be raffled off! You don’t have to be present to win. Tickets are only $3 each, or 2 for $5.00. To buy raffle tickets in advance (or if you can’t attend the forum), please email us at eglestonfarmersmarkets@gmail.org and we’ll make arrangements to get them to you.
