Councilor O’Malley's 4th Annual Town Meeting

Boston City Councilor Matt O’Malley invites residents to share their thoughts and ideas at a district-wide town hall-style meeting on Wednesday, March 26 at 6:30 pm at the Arnold Arboretum Weld Hill Research Building, 1300 Centre Street in Roslindale.

For the past three years Councilor O’Malley has held town meetings in Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury in an effort to create an open dialogue about the important issues facing the communities of District 6 and to prepare for the city’s annual budget process.

“I am holding one Town Meeting this year to bring the neighborhoods of District 6 together,” said O’Malley, who represents, Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, parts of Roslindale and Roxbury, and the back of Mission Hill.  “Over the years my town hall meetings have shown me that residents of all of the neighborhoods of my district share the same concerns.  They want clean streets, quality public schools, safe neighborhoods and thriving business districts.  This year I decided to hold one town meeting to bring these common interests together.”

Among the topics Councilor O’Malley will discuss are the city’s upcoming Fiscal Year 2015 budget process, economic and business development, public safety, education and city services.  He will also talk about the initiatives he has been working on recently and what he will focus on in the coming months.

Councilor O’Malley was elected to the District 6 seat on the Boston City Council in November 2010.  He initiated the Town Hall meetings in 2011 as a way to communicate directly with constituents.
