Boston Fermentation Festival

The first ever Boston Fermentation Festival will take place on
September 28, just in time for our fall harvest and in preparation for the cold winter months! All are invited - from the novice to the experienced aficionado. And we will cover all the bases - from cabbage to chemisty! The festival is for Boston-area foodies, fermentation revivalists & fans of lactic acid. During the fest, we will have tastings by New England professional fermenting artisans, workshops & DIY demos by savvy fermentation craftspeople, and lectures by esteemed academics.

The festival will have 3 main parts:

(1) workshops and hands-on demos run by experienced fermenters. These will cover  the range of fermented foods like bread, kimchi and cheese. There will also be a sharing table where folks are welcome to bring their ‘mothers’ for an
exchange. And we will have simple sauerkraut demos running all day on the ½
hour!

(2)  tastings by New England fermenters that make pickles & beer

(3) lectures by leading fermentation intellectuals
