Community Corner

Boston Fair Housing Poster Contest

This April will mark the 46th anniversary of the signing of the Fair Housing Act and our theme this year is, “One Boston: A Hub of Diversity.” The Boston Fair Housing Commission is holding a Fair Housing Art Poster Contest for students grades 1- 12 who reside in the city of Boston.

The art contest will serve to educate our students and the community at large about housing discrimination and the work that the city does to ensure that Boston works for all of its residents. Online voting and our panel of judges will decide which of the talented finalists best convey our theme through their artistic expression. Submissions will be accepted online from March 3rd to March 27th.

Students must submit original pieces that are handmade. No computer generated pieces will be accepted. The top 9 finalists will be honored at our Fair Housing Celebration with Mayor Walsh as well as receive prizes such as iPad, Tablet, Visa Gift Cards, and much more.

Details for entry will be located on www.cityofboston.gov/civilrights . For any questions, please contact Chardline at 617-635-2500.
