O'Malley Re-Elected to District 6 City Council Seat

He beat out challenger Luis Valerio for another term in the seat.

Boston City Councilor Matt O’Malley has been re-elected. He'll serve his second full term and two more years in the District 6 seat on the city council.

O'Malley took over 85 percent of the vote with over 18,000 votes in the district, according to unofficial city figures.

O’Malley, who beat challenger Luis Valerio, has retained the seat for the third time. The seat's territory covers the neighborhoods of Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury.

O’Malley was originally elected into office via special election in November of 2010. He won a re-election bid for a full council term in November of 2011.
