1. Forecast: Partly sunny. Much cooler with highs in the lower 50s.

2. The rest of this morning's Five Things I'm devoting to the big fire in Back Bay last night. According to our sister site in Back Bay, two 115,000 volt transformers exploded in the parking garage at the Back Bay Hilton. The photo attached to this post shows the gout of thick black smoke the fire caused.

3. If you work in the Back Bay, the city urges you to check with your employer before you begin your commute this morning to see if your business will be open.

4. The fire caused in Back Bay, South End, Chinatown, the Theater District and Kenmore. As of last night, 20,000 NStar customers were affected.

5. All Boston Public Schools report they will be open today, though Snowden International School will operate on a back-up generator.
