North End Barber Awarded For Best Shave

Firicano’s Shop offers clients a number of services.

Walk into Firicano’s Barber Shop, located at 240 North Street, and you’ll see Rich Firicano.

He’s the barber and proprietor of the shop.

Established in 1997, Rich sells gift certificates and has a price list for anything a man would want from a barber.

Haircuts are $18, a wash and cut is $18, straight razor shaves are $12, a beard trim is $3 and a neck clean up is $3.

Senior citizens, 86 years or older, can come on Tuesdays for any of the services and just pay $12.

Rich is an award winner for “best shave.”

He and second-generation Barber Sal Presti offer undivided attention to detail and services clients expect in achieving their specific look.

Born and raised in the North End, Rich moved to Stoneham eight years ago.

“I wanted to stay in the neighborhood,” he said. “The former owner, Nunzio Tuscano, was a friend of the family and he was retiring at the time.”

Rich is in the shop every day that it is open.

The hours for Firicano’s are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and closed on Monday and Sunday,
