Jamaica Plain's Room 68 Listed Among Essential Home Stores in Boston

The local shop ranked 37th on a recent list by Racked.com.

A Jamaica Plain business has been listed as one of Boston's essential home stores.

Room 68, located at 68 South St. in Jamaica Plain, was recently ranked 37th on the list of "Boston's 38 Essential Home Stores" by the site Racked Boston.

The rankings factor in a variety of price points and scour all parts of Boston to highlight alternative shops to large chain stores. The list, thought, is assembled in no particular order, and instead lists businesses from north to south and "hopping back and forth between neighborhoods—just like you will be after diving in," according to the site.

The site posted the following description for Room 68:

"Funky lighting, eccentric seating, and geometric shelving are the statement-makers in this edited boutique in JP. Plus they stock the uber cool 3D printed Nervous System lamps and decor that are designed right in Somerville. Come May, Room 68 Provincetown will open. "
