One of the defining film noirs, "Detour" unravels the trials of Al Roberts' journey to Hollywood to join his girl, Sue. Roberts catches a ride with a sketchy gambler who's got plenty of scars to show off, but when the man mysteriously dies Roberts panics and his choices lead him into deeper troubles. When he tries to impersonate the dead gambler, he's caught by a blackmailing broad out to exploit Al and his new found persona.
