Chuck Taylor Creators Suing JP Shoe Company

Converse alleges Autonomie Project, from JP, copied their original design, according to Boston Magazine.

The brand that created the iconic Chuck Taylor shoes is suing a company in Jamaica Plain alleging they copied the design.

Converse has filed a lawsuit against Autonomie Project, based in Jamaica Plain, for trademark infringement, false designation of origin, unfair competition, trademark dilution, and unfair business practices, according to Boston Magazine.

“The 18-page lawsuit claims that the Autonomie Project, which produces their own version of the popular Chuck Taylor shoe design, is stepping on the company’s trade-mark toes,” Steve Annear, reporter for Boston Magazine, writes.
