Bikes Not Bombs Offers Bike Repair Vocational Training Program

See what it will take to learn the ins and outs of bicycles with the experts.

Want to learn everything there is to know about bike repair? There’s an opportunity to do so for the right candidates in Jamaica Plain.

Bikes Not Bombs, a local non-profit organization, is offering three-month vocational education program where two selected applicants will get trained in bicycle repair and mechanics in the classroom and the shop.

From the Bikes Not Bombs website: Each participant will be expected to attend three, three-hour classes per week for the duration of the program which is December 9, 2013 – March 8, 2014. The actual hours of the class are flexible to accommodate the participant’s schedule, but must be scheduled during regular Bikes Not Bombs Bike Shop business hours (at least Monday-Friday, 11am - 7pm).

Because of the intensive nature of this training program, we can only accommodate two participants. Priority will be given to applicants who are serious about becoming professional bike mechanics and who do not have access to other training programs.

Applications, along with resume and cover letter, are due November 18th and participants will be notified by November 28th at the latest. Contact Matt Coe at 617-522-0226 or matt@bikesnotbombs.org with any questions.
