Best Places for Sandwiches Near Jamaica Plain

Last week, hundreds of Patch readers weighed in on their favorite sandwich joints - here are the hot spots that came out on top.

Last week, Patch readers throughout the greater Boston area weighed in on various food categories. In JP, our contest was about "" and .

But back to our neighbors. Many nearby Patches asked readers about the "Best Sandwich." After five days of voting, here are the "Best Sandwich" winners in the Patch neighborhoods and towns closest to JP:

  • : 181 Cambridge St.
  • : , 181 Newbury St.
  • : , 198 Bunker Hill St.
  • : , 1597 Washington St.
  • : , 335 Walnt St.
  • : , 387 Medford St.
  • : , 882 Highland St.

We'll be having these weekly "Best Of" contests for a long time to come, so maybe a future contest will ask about sandwiches in JP.

[Editor's note: I added context since the initial posting so readers are aware that we have not run a "Best Sandwich in JP" contest yet — but may do so in the future.]

Was a place excluded if it was actually IN Jamaica Plain?? I couldn't agree more with Gail Rush- no need to leave JP if you're looking for a great sandwich! But if you happen to be in Brookline Village, Cutty's is excellent.

Same Old Place: Great roast beef and meat ball subs. The Haven: Incomparable burger!

This past week here in JP we voted on smoothies, not sandwiches. Maybe in an upcoming "Best Of" contest we can tackle sandwiches here in JP. I just thought readers would be interested in the results from contests in Patches nearby. Thanks everyone.
