Eliot School Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Bring Woodworking Workshops to BPS

At the one-day workshops, master woodworker Beth Ireland will teach kids how to build, saw, file and paint.

The Eliot School has partnered with a master woodworker to bring one-day workshops to Boston Public School rooms in October.

The Kickstarter campaign, Turning Around Boston: Mobile Woodworking Classes for Kids, asks for pledges toward a $5,500 goal by Oct. 3. If they reach it, woodworker Beth Ireland will bring her mobile mini-workshop to classrooms around the city to teach kids the ways of woodwork.

The classes would be no greater than 30 students and they last about 45 minutes, according to the Kickstarter.
