The organizers have made it easy to get information online. Use their amazing Web site or informative Facebook page.

Plan Your Route

The Jamaica Plain Arts Council has a great interactive Web site where you can preview artists in various media: photography, ceramics, fiber arts, jewelry, painting and many more. You can also search by different styles, if you're looking for something abstract or perhaps functional.

Pick up a map. You'll find this year's colorful brochure/map at the various venues, or download it here. A copy of the PDF is attached to this post.

Take a Bike Tour

One great way to see the collections is by bike. There are tours Saturday and Sunday. Tours start on the steps of the old Blessed Sacrament Church, 365 Centre St. Saturday's starts at 10 a.m. and Sunday's at 2 p.m. For Saturday, there's a breakfast sponsored by the Hyde Square Task Force.

You can also go self-guided with maps available at the event, via download here or viewable on your smart phone on this Google map.

Get a Flavor of What You'll See

Open Studios is a big deal in JP, and there's always lots of media coverage. Here's some of what we've done at JP Patch:

  • Open Studios Bike Tour Highlights "Green" Art (2011)
  • On the Edge: An "Alternatour" of JP Open Studios (2010)
  • Open Studios Opens With Flair (2011)

And here's what other media are saying:

Support JP Open Studios Sponsors

Putting on a big event like this takes the whole community. When you pick up your glossy map, or download it here, please consider dropping in on sponsors for coffee, a sandwich, a dog treat, etc.. I'll get in trouble if I start listing them here since there's so many, but I wanted to put in word.

Share Your Open Studios Experience

Whether you're a participating artist or an impressed gawker, JP Patch offers ways to share your thoughts, photos, etc. with the neighborhood. It's easy to blog, upload photos to our community gallery or post on the JP Patch Facebook page. See you around the neighborhood!
