Concert Promoters Look to Bring The Noise to JP in August

Beth MacDonald and Anne Gregory, JP musicians, are raising funds toward the third year of 'August Noise JP,' a free local concert series.

Jamaica Plain can get noisy, inside venues and out in the streets, but two local musicians-turned-concert promoters are aiming to keep it that way in August.

Beth MacDonald and Anne Gregory have launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund “August Noise JP,” a free outdoor concert series.

Considering this a “pop up music series,” the concerts could take place anywhere and at any time in Jamaica Plain.

“August Noise is all about bringing the joy of unexpected music to JP,” one promoter says in the intro video.

They only need $428 to reach the goal of $1,600 by Aug. 1. The promoters began the series in 2011. It’s affiliated with Fractured Atlas, a national non-profit arts sponsorship organization.
