And The Best Music Venue in Jamaica Plain Is...

This week's Best of Patch Readers' Choice Contest asked, "What's the neighborhood's best music venue?"

It's not surprising that this quickly became a contest between JP's two most prominent night-spots for music: and . While support was strong for both clubs, The Milky Way came out on top, winning both the poll and getting the most points for resident reviews.

Putting together this week's contest brought home for me how much music we have here in the neighborhood. Just about any night, you can find live music. Sometimes it's tucked away in unexpected places. I hope this contest introduced you to some venues you might not have known about.

Best of Patch Readers' Choice 2012 is going on summer hiatus; this will be the last contest for a while. We plan to be back in the fall with more contests that highlight JP's local businesses and places.
