Close to corner of South Huntington and Huntington Avenues, Wok n Talk construction is almost over, and owners expect to open in second half of March.
The new restaurant occupies the space vacated by Fasika Ethiopian restaurant more than a year ago.
Cooks working in an open kitchen will prepare traditional rice- and noodle-based Chinese dishes with choice of pan-Asian sauces. Breakfast will be American fare accompanied by coffee and fresh juices.
No liquor will be served.
Hours are 6 a.m— 2 a.m. The owners had sought a 3 a.m. closing, but were rebuffed by the Boston Licensing Board, according to Universal Hub.
The owners saw opportunity to fill the void of restaurants opened such a long shift on the extended Mission Hill area, and hope to attract students who keep long hours, particularly during final exams.
Co-proprietors Nathan Long and Richard Pan back in November to present their plans and seek support. Council members expressed concerns about noise, trash disposal, and storefront appearance, which the owners agreed to address.
Wok n Talk will seat 97 and has 22 spaces free parking. It will feature Wi-Fi in a cafe-like atmosphere. Take-out will be available.
Long and Pan are seasoned restaurant managers, having acquired the bulk of their experience with national chain Panda Express.

Are you looking forward to opening?
We are targeting the opening to be at/or after mid-March. Reflecting the name of our restaurant, "Wok n Talk", our menu have two parts: Part1, Wok, we wok/or serve Asian dishes for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.; part2, Talk, we serve American style breakfast in the morning from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Coffee, tea and others for the whole day.
What makes Wok n Talk stand apart, and what's your price range?
The concept is Asian fusion cuisine, emphasizing healthy dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and utilizing only white meat: chicken, fish and shrimp. We want to promote healthy eating.
Our price range is affortable by most any guest around, for sure! Without spending that much money, everybody can enjoy the high quality, healthy and fresh food (no MSG). It's totally open kitchen, we cook every dish at front of your eys in the spot. Cleanliness is one of our priorities.
A whole meal starts a $7 and it goes up to $8 plus.
How many people will you employ?
Including the manager 10 to start with. More when we grow.
Is this the first restaurant you've owned?
This is our first restaurant. However we have been working in the restaurant business for more than ten years. We have strong team in both the front of house (customer service) and the back of house (cooking). Serving healthy, fresh food is our goal; creating a place/life with energy, love, synergy, passion and possibility is our mission and values.
We've worked hard at this project, and our neighbors around have been providing us a lot of support during the process. We want to add value to our neighborhood. Wok n Talk is part of this great neighborhood!
