Public health officials are warning that the flu is now widespread in Massachusetts, according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report.
The Bay State joins nine other states that the CDC lists as being widespread, according to the Associated Press.
State health officials are suggesting people get flu shots to protect against the flu. The flu vaccine this year defends against the swine flu, also called H1N1, reported Massachusetts Health and Human Services.
In Jamaica Plain, you can get a flu shot at either CVS on Centre Street or at Stop and Shop. You can also get a shot at Sullivan's Pharmacy on Corinth Street in Roslindale and Walgreens on Columbus Avenue in Roxbury.
